Prince’s Paisley Park was supposed to open as a museum in October, but has been delayed until December because City Councillors are nervous about turning their community into a “tourist town.” Thanks to a temporary order from the council, those who had already purchased tickets for the slated original opening weekend (beginning Oct 6) were still able to attend, and they saw firsthand the urn that now holds Prince’s ashes. But due to the museum’s strict no-photos policy, the rest of the public had no clue what it looked like.

Now, People has shared photos and video of the design. According to the magazine, which gained exclusive visual access, Prince’s sister Tyka Nelson and his nephew President Nelson worked with Foreverence artists to create a scale model of Paisley Park. Prince’s symbol sits on the front of the mini residence. It’s a combination of ceramic and glass that features seven crystals, all chosen by Tyka, who placed the final jewel.
If the outside seems impressive, just wait. The inside features a replica of Paisley Park’s atrium. Not only are there working lights, but there’s a tile floor once again featuring Prince’s symbol as well as decorative white doves and Prince’s purple Yamaha piano. All that within an urn measuring 14 inches by 18 inches.
“Foreverence has helped hundreds of families tell the stories of their loved ones lives through individually designed, 3D printed, ceramic cremation urns and memorials,” Pete Saari, CEO and founder, said. “Through conversation, photographs and sketches, we arrive at what is the most appropriate and meaningful expression of a person’s life and legacy. We then design and manufacture the perfect memorial.”
From the looks of it, this is a fitting final resting place for the Purple One.
