Prince was cremated over the weekend and remembered in a closed ceremony organized by his family, confirmed the artist’s publicist.

“Prince was celebrated by a small group of his most beloved: family, friends and his musicians, in a private, beautiful ceremony to say a loving goodbye,” explained the family rep. “Prince’s remains have been cremated and their final storage will remain private. We ask for your blessings and prayers of comfort for his family and close friends.”
An autopsy was conducted on Prince, but the results may no be available for another month. Over the weekend, fans gathered outside his estate in Paisley Park to honor the music legend.
While family members are trying to stay private, his brother-in-law, Maurice Phillips has spoken with the press about Prince’s final days. Even though Prince was suffering from the flu, Phillips reportedly said Prince didn’t sleep for nearly a week before his death.
“He worked 154 hours straight,” Phillips said. “I was with him just last weekend. He was a good brother-in-law.”
Prince’s estate may be turned into a museum as a lasting memorial. “It would be for the fans,” reported The Sun. “He was all about the fans—this would remember his music, which is his legacy. Prince was always private but would have wanted his music remembered.”
